Peter Obi: the master of importers

By Daniel Oshiame

You see this cloth your Messiah is putting on, the fabric is imported, it is not produced in Nigeria, Aso-Oke is made in Nigeria, i've never seen him on Aso-Oke.

He personally admitted that his shoes are made by Marks and Spencer, Quality Shoes are produced in Nigeria, you can get good leather shoes from Aba and Onitsha, but marks and Spencer shoes are not produced in Nigeria.

He made a large chunk of his wealth from importation, for many years he has been involved in importing consumer goods like Ovaltine into Nigeria, some of the goods he imports are produced in Nigeria, some of the companies that produced these goods locally had to close down.

His family company NEXT has superstores, more than 90% of goods sold in these superstores are not produced in Nigeria, they import consumer goods as small as bathroom slippers to sell to Nigerians, they are part of the network that encourages dumping of substandard goods from China and Southern Asia into Nigeria.

He is amongst the privileged few that exploited this system and became wealthy by taking advantage of the consumer habits of Nigeria.

All of a sudden he now wants to make Nigeria a producing country.

When you see people that believe in "made in Nigeria products"  you will know, it is obvious.

A good example was Fela Kuti, another good example is Wole Soyinka, by just seeing them you already know.

Anyway he is your Messiah, he is infallible.
