THE LEADERSHIP NIGERIANS TRULY WANT AT THIS POINT
BY: OBIANUJU KANU OGOKO
Unfortunately, Nigerians do not necessarily want a PARSIMONIOUS leader, they are in search of a President who can implement SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND SHARED PROSPERITY.
You see, what is important is that we prosper collectively. Rightly or wrongly, Nigerians are sold to prosperity which is even biblical, however, the problem has been the inequality in wealth distribution. A seeming spartan life does not always appeal to the larger society who are LOOKING and PRAYING to prosper.
Take Dubai for instance, the Dubai economy and development architecture is built on the concept of grandeur and we all love Dubai. Their leaders live very lavishly and the people do not have a problem with that because they are well taken care of as well.
Our problem in Nigeria isn't that we want a leader who does not drink wine and wears one shoe. Not at all, we want to collectively share in our common wealth and have access to basic aminities.
Conversely, we want a President who understands prosperity, big projects, big investments and who is able to get the greater population to share in Nigerias prosperity.
Truthfully speaking, some campaigns may just not appeal to the larger issues and expectations of what the greater populace want. We want to prosper and develop as a nation and we want a President who understands and believes in joint prosperity.
To the best of my Knowledge, having known all the Candidates and their antecedents, ATIKU is THE ONE CANDIDATE who would ensure that our current meagre resources will be used to undertake projects that impact all regions equitably, a President who would ensure that Nigerias experience equal opportunities and participation.
