ON THE MURDER OF SALOME ABUH, ECOWAS COURT JUDGEMENT AND VICTORY FOR WOMEN IN NIGERIAN POLITICS

BY PROFESSOR STELLA EFFAH-ATTOE,
NATIONAL WOMAN LEADER OF THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP).

My last Write-up on Late Hon. Salome Abuh was a Second Year Memorial Tribute. Today, I write about the Ecowas' Court of Justice Judgement on the Case of the slained Kogi State Woman Leader who was brutally burnt alive by miscreants and thugs under the watch of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The killing of Salome Abuh of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party tells of how much Democracy/Women’s Political Inclusion, are being threatened by the APC. In a World in which many Countries are working towards broadening Women’s Inclusiveness in Politics, the APC is working Anti Clockwise by threatening and intimidating Women in Politics.

It is with great Joy in my heart, that I the National Woman Leader of the PDP, receive the news about the Judgement from the Ecowas Court, on the dastardly killing of Late Salome Abuh. She stood up for Democracy and for One Man, One Vote. I am glad that Justice has been served from an International Court, ordering the APC led Federal Government to pay the sum of Ten million naira (#10,000,000) to the Late Salome's family, for failing to protect her from being murdered by it's Political Thugs.

It is unfortunate also that up till this moment, the APC Government has failed to Investigate the Murder of Salome, failed to arrest the Culprits and failed to Prosecute the Political Assailants.

On behalf of all PDP Women in Nigeria, I hereby call on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency, respect the Ecowas Court Judgement and pay the said sum of Ten million naira to Late Salome's family and to quickly bring the Perpetrators to Justice.

The Ecowas Court Judgement on the Politically inclined killing of Salome Abuh is received with Respite and hailed as Victory for All PDP Women, Nigerian Women in Politics, Women in General and for Democracy.

God bless the Ecowas Court.
God bless the PDP.
God bless PDP Women.
God bless Nigerian Women.
